Wes Wasson, Silicon Valley Marketing Executive and Non-Profit Entrepreneur
Wes Wasson is a long-time business executive who spent more than 20 years building and growing successful companies in Silicon Valley. Over the course of his career, he has led marketing and business strategy at companies of all sizes, from fast-growing tech startups to multi billion-dollar industry leaders. In 2013, Wes stepped down from his role as Chief Marketing Officer at internet software leader Citrix to spend more time in philanthropy and mentoring. He is currently involved in several poverty alleviation projects, including his work as board chairman of Elevate Africa, a San Diego-based nonprofit that uses technology to help people in developing countries break the cycle of poverty.
Mark Stuart, San Diego Zoo, CFRE
Mark Stuart leads a staff of 60 for the Zoological Society of San Diego's Development and Membership Department. The Zoo raises approximately $85 million in gifts, pledges and membership income each year. The Zoological Society maintains 500,000 adult members and 130,000 child members all up for renewal each year. From 2000 to 2005, Mark served as Associate Dean of Development and Alumni Relations for the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. During his tenure, the School prepared, launched, and executed a five-year $100 million campaign which was the largest fundraising effort for any veterinary school at that time.
